Kurt & Laura from Adelaide

I’ve had the privilege of being to Halmahera twice. I lived there for almost a year in 2005, and just recently spent seven weeks there with a team from our church, Aldgate Baptist. I met Nicole and Lisa on their whirlwind visit to Halmahera, but unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to meet Kasih and her mum. I have, however, had a lot to do with her village of Duma—I have a few good friends from this small village, and have visited it a considerable number of times. God has really provided by opening a door for Kasih to receive surgery here in Adelaide where there are already people who know her island, village, people and language. I hope to be a voice for Kasih and her family to raise financial support and awareness before their arrival, and to provide support (and translation) for Kasih and her family during their stay.
